Therapy

With nearly 20 years of experience as a social worker, I believe therapy is an opportunity to examine the patterns, beliefs, and stories that may have once served you but no longer support the life you want to live. Together, we'll explore new ways of understanding yourself, navigating challenges, and creating meaningful change.

I work especially well with adults who are interested in exploring their identities, understanding how family of origin experiences continue to shape their lives, and navigating life transitions such as divorce, co-parenting and custody, parenting, family estrangement, grief, and loss.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and direct. I believe that if you've decided to seek therapy, there's a reason. Together we'll focus on what brought you here while building a supportive therapeutic relationship that encourages growth, insight, and lasting change.

I utilize storytelling as a tool for healing. Depending on your goals and needs, I integrate a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, family of origin work, harm reduction, and coaching techniques.

One of the core values of my practice is extending ourselves grace. Growth, healing, and change are rarely linear, and they often require patience, courage, and self-compassion. My goal is to both support and challenge you as you rewrite your narrative and move toward a future that feels authentic, fulfilling, and aligned with your values.

In-person sessions in NE Portland on Tuesday evenings and Sundays. Virtual sessions available on Wednesdays. Walk & talk therapy on Wednesday afternoons.

Walk & Talk Therapy

Walk and talk therapy is an option that offers a unique path to healing by combining therapeutic conversation with the grounding presence of nature. Movement can help bypass feelings of being 'stuck,' allowing for new perspectives and emotional breakthroughs. Whether walking through a local park or along a quiet trail, this approach integrates physical wellbeing with mental clarity, providing a spacious and less formal environment for growth and self-discovery.

CSWA Supervision

I offer Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA) individual and group supervision focused on clinical skill development, ethical decision-making, and professional identity formation. My approach is grounded in social justice and clinical excellence, ensuring you feel supported and challenged as you work toward your LCSW.

MSW & BSW Practicum Supervision

MSW & BSW Practicum Supervision

I offer specialized supervision for social work students navigating their practicum. This phase of education is a vital bridge between theory and practice, where you find your voice as a clinician. My approach provides a safe space to process complex cases, explore professional identity, and develop the self-awareness necessary for long-term health in the field. We focus on ethical decision-making, direct clinical skills, and the integration of social justice frameworks into your emerging practice.

About Me

I live in SE Portland with my wife, kids, and our furry and feathered crew. Outside of the therapeutic space, I find joy in tending my garden, exploring trails both locally and around the world, getting lost in a good book, cooking meals to share, biking around Portland, and working with wood. I value curiosity, connection, and creating spaces where people can feel at ease - whether around a dinner table, in my workshop, or in therapy.
